Dr. Martha Gallia, O.D.

Dr. Gallia has been in practice for 32 years, 27 of which in her private practice in Humble, Texas. She obtained her Doctor of Optometry of Degree in 1979 from the University of Houston College of Optometry. This was preceded by her degree from The University of Texas in Microbiology and two years of cancer research at MD Anderson Hospital in the immunology department. Dr. Gallia started the Optometry department at MacGregor Medical Clinic in 1979 and opened four offices for this large HMO.

She is a therapeutically certified, optometric glaucoma specialist. Her expertise includes treatment with specialty contact lenses, ocular disease and trauma treatment, comanagement of surgical cases including LASIK,cataract, lid surgery, and pediatric/geriatric ophthalmic care.

Dr. Gallia is a member of Texas Optometric Association, The American Optometric Association as well as the Contact Lens Section. She has received the President's Award for community optometric involvement. Caring for the very poor in Guerrero, Mexico, as a part of a medical team, represents an integral part of her commitment to serve others. Dr. Gallia has lectured nationally and internationally on contact lenses, practice management and ocular trauma and continues in her clinical teaching as adjunct faculty at The University of Houston. In her spare time Dr. Gallia enjoys cooking, gardening and all types of dance.


Stewart Zuckerbrod, M.D.

Dr. Stewart Zuckerbrod was born in Frankfurt Germany. He graduated from Lawrence High School in Cedarhurst, NY in 1973 and continued his education by obtaining a bachelors degree in Biology and German Literature from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1977. Dr. Zuckerbrod attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine, where he received his medical degree in 1983. He then completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Westchester County Medical Center in Westchester, NY, and an ophthalmology residency at Baylor College of Medicine. He has been awarded numerous times for his many outstanding achievements some of which include the Outstanding Young Men in America Award, Baylor College of Medicine Community Service Award, Goar Award (Cullen Eye Center), and teacher of the year award - UT/Hermann Ophthalmology Program. After completing residency, Dr. Zuckerbrod lectured in Germany on his ophthalmology research and did volunteer work in Nigeria. He has a strong interest in teaching, started as a teaching assistant at SUNY - Binghamton, and has been an instructor at Baylor College of Medicine at UT Health Science Center - Houston. He continues to teach ophthalmology residents from all over the country as an instructor for the Dulaney Foundation.

Dr. Zuckerbrod is a member of many organizations including American Academy of Ophthalmology, Houston Ophthalmology Society, Texas Medical Association, Texas Ophthalmology Association and Harris County Medical Society. He has served on the Boards of Directors of numerous non-profit organizations.

Dr. Zuckerbrod is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and practices general Ophthalmology. During his spare time Dr. Zuckerbrod enjoys gardening, theater; his first play was produced successfully in Houston and Los Angeles. Matthew R. Lahmeyer, O.D.

Dr. Lahmeyer was born in Amarillo, TX, but calls Houston his home. He completed his undergraduate schooling at Oklahoma Christian University where he received his bachelors degree in Biology. He then completed his optometry degree at the University of Houston College of Optometry where he became therapeutically certified as well as qualified to treat glaucoma. Additionally, he is competent in performing an eye exam in Spanish. During his studies at the University of Houston Dr. Lahmeyer was one of the first students to be invited to visit the Northeastern State University College of Optometry in Tahlequah, OK where he completed a three-month externship on the Cherokee Nation Indian Reservation. Currently his focus is primary care optometry, but he also has an interest in pursuing challenging contact lens fits and advancing his experiences in the treatment of glaucoma and co-managing many ocular surgeries such as cataract extraction and LASIK.

In his spare time Dr. Lahmeyer�s hobbies include running and cycling while occasionally honing his swimming skills to participate in triathlons. Last year Dr. Lahmeyer completed his first marathon in Oklahoma City.

Dr. Lahmeyer and his wife welcomed their first child, a girl, in September 2008 and are expecting their next in August of 2011.


Jack Bondzio

Jack is our resident "guru" when it comes to all things optical. He has been in the business for over sixty years and handles much of our optical ordering and managing. Just talking with Jack will make you realize that he has a passion for his work and shares his passion with the great job he does with each patient.

In his spare time Jack and his wife frequent the Louisiana casinos. He loves playing the slots with a fine cigar nearby.

As somebody that has been in the optical business for over 60 years you can imagine the memories that come to life.
